Welcome to my training blog. I'm training for my first half-Ironman and my fourth marathon.

It was pointed out that I neglected to mention the race I'm training for. That race is Barb's Race, a 70.3 triathlon at Vineman. It's a charitable race, details are available here. 70.3 refers to the miles covered in the race, which is half-Ironman distance. That includes a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run (half marathon).

On Sunday I completed the Presidio 10-mile race with my parents. I posted a 2:18:16, which beat my previous personal record (PR) by nearly 35 minutes. I mostly walked, but still managed to get a little running in, which was enough to put my toes right through my aging running socks.

This was my fourth race of 2015. I currently have 13 on the schedule for the year.
